Gemini Quintet
Lyrical and lush clarinet with strings
Formed in 2019 while studying
together at Te Kōkī, New Zealand School of Music, the Gemini Clarinet
Quintet are first and foremost best friends. Ensemble members Leah,
Ellen, Lauren, Hayden and Emily, are Wellington-based but whakapapa to
various places around Aotearoa, UK, France, China, Netherlands and
Samoa. They love music of all different styles, genres and cultural
backgrounds, and enjoy bringing music they love to life with the people
they love!
The Gemini Clarinet Quintet are
set to bring a lyrical lush set of pieces to Classical on Cuba 2022,
including slow movements from well-loved clarinet quintets and a new
piece by local jazz bassist Seth Boy. Expect a soothing and joyful
session of your classical crawl!
